Alice Stern turns forty tomorrow. She thinks about her self-sufficient lifestyle, how she likes living in New York, a good job and a strong friendship with her best friend Sam. She is happy, isn't she? On the eve of her fortieth birthday, Alice sits quietly by the hospital bed of her father, who has been given the last few days, and tries to understand whether she was really happy or just resigned to the course of life. She feels that she is missing something. And in the morning, Alice wakes up in her sixteen-year-old body. Her forty-year-old father meets her. Alice gets a chance to spend time with him and strengthen the relationship.
