The Ark

TRUMAN CHASE is a young, aspiring fashion designer with a vision. The son of a Polish immigrant from the Bronx, Truman is set to launch his dream career at a leading New York fashion house, his chance to break out of poverty. A few weeks before he starts, his father leaves Truman a last dying wish: that he return to Poland and rescue his family’s struggling clothing business. Truman abandons his U.S. career to stay in Poland to build his own fashion house, TruCo. Over the next decade, as the business booms, Truman takes the risky decision to borrow millions of dollars from a global fund, The Ark. Unbeknownst to Truman, this is the start of his worst nightmare.
John Lynch is an American entrepreneur, author, and speaker who lives in Poland. He arrived in 1991 as a volunteer to help rebuild the nation after 50 years of economic malpractice. He was one of the first expatriates to launch a start-up in Poland in the aftermath of the fall of communism. John has travelled the former East Bloc countries extensively, and knows its peoples intimately. John has Polish roots – his great-grandmother was from Białystok. He is fluent in Polish.In 2014, John was awarded the highest honor, the Order of the Gold Cross from the President of Poland for his contributions to building Poland’s free-market economy. John is former Entrepreneur of the Year and a long-standing Board member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland. John has an engineering degree from Lehigh University and an MBA from The Wharton School. John was a regular columnist for The Warsaw Business Journal and Images – a UK apparel magazine. He lives with his wife Kasia and two children Kuba and Zosia outside Krakow. The Ark is John’s literary debut, inspired by his own real experiences. The world premiere of the book takes place in Poland.
