The selection of people presented in the album is by no means complete. Nor was it intended to be. To get a fuller account of what Poles have done for America we need to wait for the publication of the Polish American History and Culture: An Encyclopedia which is currently being prepared by members of the interpretative essays as well as about one thousand biographical entries. 400 years of polish immigrants in America was conceived merely as an introductory attempt to highlight the contribution of Poles to the development of the U.S.
