Drugi tom z trzyczęściowej serii prac prof. Krzysztofa Maurina – wybitnego matematyka, twórcy szkoły polskiej szkoły fizyki matematycznej, a zarazem filozofa i myśliciela – zawiera teksty spisane z notatek Autora. Znalazły się w nim m.in. rozdziały zatytułowane:

Rozdziały o charakterze matematycznym wyrażają z jednej strony pogląd o organicznym związku matematyki ze sprawami zaliczanymi zwykle do humanistyki, a z drugiej o tym, że matematyka dysponuje językiem symboli umożliwiającym objęcie znacznie szerszego obszaru myśli.

The second volume of the three-part series of Professor Krzysztof Maurin’s works – an eminent mathematician, the founder of the Polish school of mathematical physics, a philosopher and a thinker – contains texts copied from the author’s notes. It includes, among others, chapters titled:
• Tradition and Progress in Mathematics and Philosophy
• The Wisdom of Fairy Tales
• The Legend and the wonder of Polish School of Mathematics
• The Differential from Leibniz to Kähler, Manin and Quillen
• Gnosis – Neoplatonism – Kabbalah

The chapters devoted to mathematics on the one hand express the view about the organic relation between mathematics and humanities, and on the other, show that mathematics has the language of symbols which allow to encompass a much wider area of thought.
